Concert Notes:

Fall Concert at St. Theresa’s School, November 7, 3:00 pm

The St. Theresa School PTA will present the Parkway Concert Orchestra in a fall pops concert on Sunday, November 7 at 3 p.m. in Monsignor Donahue Hall, St. Theresa School, 30 St. Theresa Avenue, West Roxbury. Music Director and Conductor Lawrence Isaacson conducts the 50 piece non-profit orchestra in classical and pops-style selections for the entire family, including Academic Festival Overture, Hymn and Triumphal March from Aida and selections from Porgy and Bess.

The orchestra’s first commissioned work, “Washington Slept Here - Overture”, by Allen Feinstein, will receive its premiere performance. Euphonium soloist Adam Frey will perform “Sin tu Amor”, “De Kar Waltz”, “La Virgen de la Macarena” and the world premiere of his arrangement of “Rule Britannia”.

The concert will feature the St. Theresa Parish Choir, the Choristers’ Choir and the Children's Choir, joined by the South Shore’s Choral Art Society and directed by Dr. Richard Bunbury, in the Kyrie and Gloria from Messe Breve in C by Charles Gounod. After the concert, the audience will be able to meet the instruments at an instrument petting zoo.

This concert is presented for the public by St. Theresa School PTA and is sponsored by P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home. Donations are requested: $6; $5 for seniors; $4 for children.
