The Parkway Concert Orchestra will perform in a family concert on Sunday, March 6 at 3 p.m. in Fiske Hall at Dexter School, 20 Newton Street, Brookline. This concert is presented at no charge for the public by the Dexter and Southfield Schools.
Music Director and Conductor Lawrence Isaacson has chosen a program of song, fun and frivolity, including “An American in Paris” Suite, Shenandoah, The Waltzing Cat and several pieces featuring local mezzo-soprano, Jacque Wilson. After the concert, the audience will be able to meet the instruments at an instrument petting zoo.
Mezzo-soprano Jacque Wilson will perform a selection of arias from “The Marriage of Figaro”, “Les Hugenots” and “Faust”, and songs from “Carousel" and “Show Boat". Jacque was born in California and received her Master’s degree in Opera Performance in 2001 from The Boston Conservatory, where she studied with Sara Goldstein, Sheri Greenawald and Michael Strauss. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in voice in 1999 from California State University, Northridge. She has appeared as the lead role of Amor in L’Egisto, Little Red in Seymour Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood, Saint Ida in Four Saints in Three Acts, Susanna in the one-act opera A Fatal Song, and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro. She has been a featured soloist with the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and Longwood Opera.
