The Parkway Concert Orchestra, Westwood Park and Recreation and Westwood Youth and Family Services will present “A Night at the Opera” on Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Islington Community Center, 288 Washington Street, Westwood. Music Director and Conductor Lawrence Isaacson has chosen a program of song, fun and frivolity, including Hymn and Triumphal March from Aida, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Oliver” and several pieces featuring local mezzo-soprano, Jacque Wilson.
Jacque Wilson will perform a selection of arias from “The Marriage of Figaro”, “Les Hugenots” and “Faus1”, and songs from “Carousel” and “Show Boat”. She was born in California and received her Master’s degree in Opera Performance in 2001 from The Boston Conservatory, where she studied with Sara Goldstein, Sheri Greenawald and Michael Strauss. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in voice in 1999 from California State University, Northridge. She has appeared as the lead role of Amor in L’Egisto, Little Red in Seymour Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood, Saint Ida in Four Saints in Three Acts, Susanna in the one-act opera A Fatal Song, and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro. She has been a featured soloist with the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and Longwood Opera. She also recently premiered composer Armand Qualliotine’s There May Be Windows.
