Concert Notes:
"Strauss and More" Concert in Norwood on March 18, 2007, 3:00 pm
The First Congregational Church, Norwood, will present a concert for the public on Sunday, March 18th at 3 p.m. at its church located at 100 Winter Street, Norwood. Peter Freisinger conducts the 50 piece non-profit Parkway Concert Orchestra in classical and pops selections, including the world premiere of "The Brave New World" by Chao-Jan Chang. The orchestra will also perform "Wine, Women and Song", "Radetzky March" and other pieces by Strauss; "Overture to The Magic Flute" by Mozart; Sousa marches and selections from "Kiss Me, Kate" by Cole Porter.
The program is supported in part by a grant from the Norwood Cultural
Council, a local agency that is supported by the Massachusetts
Cultural Council, a state agency. Tickets are $15; $12 for seniors
and $10 for children under 12 years. To reserve tickets, please call

requested. Your tickets will be waiting for you at the door before
the show. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Guest Artist Chao-Jan Chang
Born in Taiwan, Chao-Jan Chang studied composition at Berklee College of Music and Brandeis University. He received his doctorate from Boston University and has a distinguished career as an international composer. His works have been performed throughout the U.S. and Asia, and have been recorded by Warner Music and Better Music Recordings. He recently released his first CD, "Love Secrets", which features four of his chamber and electronic music compositions. He is the founder of ModernMusician.com, which is the largest electronic music website in the Chinese world with more than twenty thousand subscribers worldwide. As an influential music critic, he writes extensively on both classical and popular music in Audio City Magazine. Chang is also a fellow of The MacDowell and Yaddo Artist Colonies.
