Parkway Concert Orchestra’s Season of Celebrations

Concert Notes:

Fall Pops Concert on November 2, 2008, 3:00 PM

The Parkway Concert Orchestra wishes to extend a special thanks to our sponsors for this concert.

Parkway Concert Orchestra kicks-off their 2008-09 season of “Celebrations!” with a family concert on Sunday, November 2 at 3 p.m. in the Holy Name Parish, Upper Church, 1689 Centre Street, West Roxbury. “Come Join the Celebration” with PCO’s new Music Director and Conductor Matthew Fritz as they perform Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals”, Handel’s “Watermusic Suite”, and selections from Bernstein’s “West Side Story”. Joining the orchestra for Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” is Martin Steinmetz, organist at the Allin Congregational Church in Dedham, and he’ll be playing the recently refurbished organ at Holy Name. The program also includes Sager and Foster’s “The Prayer” with tenors Steven Barrett and Demetri Tsaniklides.

This concert is sponsored by P.E. Murray, George F. Doherty & Sons and is presented by the Holy Name School Enrichment Program. The admission is free. For information please call 617-327-3151.
