Parkway Concert Orchestra presents "The Final Frontier" on Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 100 Winter Street, Norwood. Music Director and Conductor Matthew Fritz has chosen a lively program including Mars and Jupiter from The Planets by Gustav Holst and selections from Superman, Return of the Jedi and Star Trek. The program features violinist Lucia Lin in Antonín Dvořák's Romance, Op. 11, and selections from Schindler’s List.
The program is supported in part by a grant from the Norwood Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Donation is $15; $10 for seniors and students; and free for children under 12 years old. For ticket reservations please call 781-762-0288.

Lucia Lin made her debut performing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the age of 11. Since then, she has been a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the 1990 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. She has performed in solo recitals throughout the U.S., making her New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in March 1991, and has appeared with the Boston Pops Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria.
A frequent collaborator in chamber music, Ms. Lin is a member of the Muir String Quartet, the quartet in residence at Boston University. She is also a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and has served as concertmaster of both the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also recorded for Nonesuch Records as a guest of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players and for New World Records on a disc featuring the works of Bright Sheng.
